Builder helps homeless charity
A homelessness charity which has been “stretched to breaking point” because of soaring demand during the pandemic is rejoicing after receiving a hefty donation.
Time for Homeless, which gives out food and essentials to rough sleepers and those in need in Maidstone and Medway has received £1,000 from developer Persimmon Homes.
Charity representative, Michelle Langley, said: “We have always helped the elderly, but since the outbreak of Covid19 we have been stretched to breaking point at times due to the substantial increase in demand for help from those also self-isolating and unable to access assistance.
“We will use the money to exclusively support those over70 and it will help us support a great many people.”
Every month the house builder donates up to £1,000 to worthwhile causes as part of its community champions scheme.
