Show thought for others

-

Now that isolation and lockdown measures have been eased, more and more people and in particular the elderly, many of whom have been living a sole and lonely existence, are able to leave home, get out and about and begin to start building some semblance of normal life.

This has meant that there are some people walking and not necessarily relying on scant public transport. It has also seen an increase, out of necessity, in the use of mobility scooters and the like.

What has become very clear is the number of impediments that ordinary pedestrians, mobility scooter users, people pushing children in prams and the visually disabled are now encountering in their efforts to get about.

These include the parking of numerous motor vehicles on pavements, shrubs and bushes overhanging gardens onto the public highway and the illpositioning of wheelie bins.

Now with a little thought and consideration for others on part of the perpetrators, these impediments could be drastically reduced or eliminated completely.

This is a plea: please do not obstruct the highways and pavements in any way and take action to remove any obstructions that it is within your power to do.

Sometime in the future you may be in the position of these other road and pavement users and would doubtless expect similar consideration.

Now that normal life is getting back on track, do your bit to make it that much bit easier and better by giving some thought to the problems and taking appropriate action.
