Firm has high hops for new oil
A Paddock Wood company is ready to offer brewers across the world a new hop oil, as a more sustainable alternative to using the real thing.
Totally Natural Solutions (TNS), based on the Eastands Estate in Maidstone Road, last year signed a deal with New Zealand’s largest grower NZ Hops Ltd, which has enabled the company to develop a new range of dry hop extracts.
The sunny terrain helps create highly sought-after aromas and flavours, namely tropical fruit and citrus notes, in craft and traditional beers.
The TNS oil extraction processes gives a product that can replace pellets or whole hops in the brewing process, without sacrificing taste.
The firm has called its new range HopInspiration® Premium NZ.
It maintains it is a more sustainable method of brewing than traditional ways using whole hops, by reducing waste, saving on storage and transport costs, avoiding any pesticide residues, and providing absolute consistency in taste.
TNS founder Colin Wilson said: “Since we signed this exclusive agreement with NZ Hops late last year, we’ve been working tirelessly to create our new HopInspiration® Premium NZ hops range offering hop varieties that have never existed as extracts before.
“We’re looking at the hop world through new eyes. We’re excited to now be in a position to start rolling out our exclusive range to beer producers of all sizes, including craft brewers and major multinationals, in the UK and globally.”
