NHS choir’s single can be downloaded
An NHS choir has hit a high note after they released a charity single.
The 14 members of the choir, who all work for the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, recorded their version of John Farnham’s “You’re the Voice”, and re-named it “You’ve Been Great” to thank the community for supporting key workers during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the song is available to download with profits from each sale going to the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s Charitable Fund, which helps to support patients, carers and staff. It has joined forces with the choir to release the single. SingingNation, who partner with the Trust to run weekly singing sessions, supported the choir with the song which was adapted by choir member Sarah Oakley.
Rachael Vass, one of the group’s co-ordinators who led on the song, said: “We could never have imagined our choir’s song would be made available for download.
“We really hope the public gets behind us by downloading it, so we can raise as much money as possible for the Trust’s charity. “As well as celebrating the public’s support for the NHS during the pandemic, the song also encompasses us as a choir. Laura Kennedy, fundraising manager for the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s Charitable Fund, said: “The charity funds a diverse range of medical equipment, such bladder scanners and observation machines and furniture including waiting room chairs, plus memory boxes”
The song is available to download for 79p on a range of music platforms.
