An exhibitionist dubbed “the Naked Carpenter” for his habit of doing DIY in the nude left prison only to go immediately to a police station in transparent pants.

Robert Jenner went to Maidstone Police Station in the town’s Palace Avenue to collect a mobile phone having just been released from a jail stint imposed for a number of exposure offences.

But between leaving the prison and reaching the station, the 47-year-old got changed into seethrough pants and a mesh thong in a bid to get around the court order ordering him to wear at least two layers.

The skimpy garments were shown to the jury.

Now the former soldier is facing another stretch in jail after the jury ruled the clothes had breached a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following the incident in January.

Jenner, formerly of Bingley Close, Snodland, claimed he

was allowed to go commando because he is protected under the Human Rights Act.

But a jury at Maidstone Crown Court took just 17 minutes to convict him.

Judge Charles Macdonald QC adjourned sentencing for 14 days to allow Jenner – who defended himself – an opportunity to get

a barrister for the next hearing.

Prosecutor Simon Standford said: “This happened on the day he was released from prison for a large number of offences for exposure.

“He left prison and went to the police station to make inquiries about a mobile telephone wearing clothes, the Crown suggests,

he hadn’t been wearing when he had left prison.”

He said it is the second time Jenner had breached the CBO, imposed to “prevent him from exposing his genitalia”.

It was imposed in 2019 after, working as a delivery driver, Jenner went commando and cut a hole in the crotch of his jeans.
