Acres of countryside have been transformed into two giant mazes ready for opening later this month.

Instagrammers and fashion photographers were among the visitors to the maize mazes and sunflower fields run by Maze Moon last year, with this year’s two sites expected to be just as popular.

Farm manager James Kemsley, who is also responsible for Kent’s autumnal pumpkin picking fields Pumpkin Moon, has been tending to the two mazes since Halloween in readiness for this year’s visitors.

Using unique GPS technology and hundreds of thousands of seeds, the mazes in Maidstone and Rainham are between eight and 10 acres in size and have their own unique shape which can be seen from the air.

In Sandling, Maidstone,

you will find Super Woof and Friends, which will feature a superhero dog, complete with his own cape. Over on the Lower Rainham Road in Rainham, the maze is called Moon Mission, and features an astronaut and space-themed images.

Both fields will be open as schools close for the summer holidays on July 23.

The themes for last year’s mazes included a sunflower, a Minion, and a witch on a broom.

Speaking to the Messenger, James said: “The feedback has been really good, which is really reassuring.”

There are ice cream and coffee vans at each maze, alongside picnic areas, to enable families to stay longer in the outdoors should the weather be nice.

The sunflowers will be out in full bloom in early August, and tickets to the mazes will include entry to the sunflower fields once they have bloomed.

Separate tickets to the sunflower fields will be available in early August.

Entry to both mazes, £6, must be booked online at www. tinyurl.com/KMmazemoon.

Price also includes entry to the mini maze at each field as well as activity gamecards and amazemap.
