Student makes second bid on modelling prize

-

A teenager from South Ashford is preparing to take part in a national modelling competition for the second year running. Megan Bullen, 16, has been selected to run in the editorial category in the Top Model UK competition.

Last year Megan won the public vote award in her category after securing more than 3,000 votes – setting a new record for the competition.

The North School student said: “I feel I’m more prepared and know what to expect this time around.

“It was an amazing experience last year and I wanted to be a part of it again. This time with more confidence and hopefully very little or no nerves.”

Megan, who is being sponsored by Ashford florist Carol Mcguirk, of Ambermoonshine Florist, is planning a series of events to raise funds for the Top Model’s charity partnership, Children with Cancer UK, and hopes to top the £2,400 she raised last year.

“I’m hoping to double the money I raised last year, but I will need a lot of help in achieving this,” she added.

Megan is currently looking for donations for a raffle and auction.

Rehearsals for the competition start on Sunday (January 12) in London, where all entrants will have the chance to be selected to walk for Fashion International at London Fashion Week.

The finals will take place in April.

All votes cost £1, with funds benefiting charity, Children with Cancer UK. To donate prizes contact Megan at http:// tinyurl.com/bodvqq4
