Meeting will show plans for special homes

-

Residents are invited to a public meeting in Stanhope to view plans for new accommodation to house young people at risk of homelessness.

The meeting, being held by Golding Homes housing association and Ashford Borough Council, will display plans for the small development at The Limes.

The scheme would see the play area relocated and improved, and specialist accommodation built to house up to eight young people in danger of becoming homeless.

One of the homes will be accessible for people with disabilities.

Cllr Aline Hicks, ABC’s portfolio holder for housing, said: “We believe these homes are vital to help us provide much-needed supported accommodation at a time when preventing homelessness has never been more important.

“Not only that but the community stands to benefit from improved play facilities, so we are also keen to find out what would best suit them.”

The plans will be on display at The John Wallis Academy, in Millbank Road, between 4pm and 7pm tomorrow (Friday). Anyone is welcome to attend.
