Plans on the table for new pride of Lions

-

A meeting to discuss the possibility of launching a new Lions Club in Ashford takes place later this month.

Lions Clubs International is the largest services club organisation in the world, with 17,000 active members belonging to 900 clubs located throughout the British Isles and Ireland.

Each club supports a range of community projects, including health and youth initiatives and help for the elderly and disabled.

Funds are raised through a whole range of events, and clubs hold monthly meetings and regular social events.

Volunteering not only helps those in need, but also gives members a sense of pride and accomplishment.

The new club is looking for members.

Register your interest by emailing lionjacquieprebble@yahoo. co.uk or drop in to an information evening at the Press Room Bistro, Park Street, Ashford, on Monday, January 20 at 8pm.

There will also be a Lions stall in County Square, Ashford, on Saturday.

There are already Lions Clubs in Tenterden, Hythe & Romney Marsh and Elham Valley & Wye.
