COUNTY LEAGUE: KENNINGTON PAY THE PENALTY FOR SECOND SUCCESSIVE SEASON
Carlum Macleod and Chris Wyles put Kennington in front twice but last season’s beaten finalists bowed out of the Weald of Kent Senior Charity Cup on penalties against holders Borden Village at the Julie Rose Stadium on Saturday.
The Sittingbourne visitors hit back and with extra-time failing to provide a winner, Borden went onto clinch victory in the shoot-out.
It was second time unlucky for Kennington, after losing the same way in last year’s final between the same sides at Homelands.
Kennington Reserves were also in action against Sittingbourne opposition, losing 4-1 against Little Sharsted in a game played on a 3G pitch at the town’s Community College.
