Kentish Express Ashford & District
Any winners at your child’s school?
If your child has been helped by an extraordinary teacher, why not nominate them for a Teacher of the Year award?
Nominations are open until March 1 and candidates will be judged and awarded in May.
Organiser Simon Dolby said: “Ashford parents need to represent the district by voting in these awards. I’m sure staff and volunteers at your child’s school work hard all year round for each and every pupil.
“Therefore it would be wonderful if you and other parents you know would consider nominating those staff and volunteers who make a stand-out contribution.
“This is a huge encouragement to all nominees, and a big public pat-on-the-back for winners and their schools.”
The main categories include: primary, secondary, newly qualified teacher, nonteaching member of staff (including dinner ladies and caretakers), and a volunteer award including members of the PTA, governors and other voluntary roles (for example, reading supporters and those who support extra-curricular activities).
A panel of independent judges will decide the winners in each category and the winners will be announced in May.
You only have until March 1 to nominate. So go to www.kentteacheroftheyear. co.uk and fill in the online nomination form.
