What is the best thing about the town? The wide High Street and burgeoning cafe culture. What would you say to a visitor to encourage them to come to Ashford? Come to the Designer Outlet, John Lewis and, for clothes, County Square. What are your favourite shops, bars and restaurants in Ashford? The barber’s next to the Pilgrims Hospice shop in New Street (they are always cheerful), The Wheel at Westwell and The Windmill, Willesborough Where is your one favourite place in the town? Ashford Library (Gateway Plus, Church Road). What makes Ashford stand out from other towns? The network of surfaced foot and cycle paths, and Cineworld which shows live theatre and opera from around the world. What has changed about Ashford most over the years? Annoying proliferation of traffic lights; incredible rate of growth away from the centre.

What needs improving in the town? Sorting out crumbling Bank Street. KE should be organising an online petition to shame KCC into action. Could you see yourself living in Ashford for the rest of your life? I live in Westwell and intend to continue doing so. Do you feel proud to live in Ashford? To an extent…I can boast to friends about the John Lewis store, the Designer Outlet and the BUPA home on the Drovers roundabout!
