Golf training centre aims to get people on courses
Coach wants to improve players’ confidence and increase clubs’ memberships

The Howard Bonaccorsi Academy, at Westwell Lane in Westwell, has been launched by professional coach Howard Bonaccorsi.
It is believed to be the first indoor training facility for golfers in the Ashford area.
Customers will receive expert tuition through cutting-edge technology that measures the movements of the face of the golf club and the ball to ensure each golfer has a tailored improvement programme.
Mr Bonaccorsi, from Kingsnorth, said: “The challenge with learning outdoors is that people become so focussed on the flight of the ball that they overlook the technical changes needed to ensure a smooth and repeatable golf swing.
“The benefit of indoor learning, where the ball is hit towards a screen and analysed by technol- ogy, is that it allows for quicker progress in a completely private environment.”
The centre will offer special programmes for older golfers, beginners, children and women.
Mr Bonaccorsi said: “We will be a one-stop shop for golfers but our goal is simple: we want to send well trained golfers into the Kent golfing community, confident they can play well

and become a part of local clubs, thereby helping to increase their membership numbers.
“Recent years have been tough for clubs and many people who want to try golf are put off by concerns they will struggle to master the game and will look foolish on the course. Our mission is to make sure they hit the course ready to perform and can quickly become happy and successful club members.”
The facility will also offer a golf concierge service, arranging tee times, corporate events and club repairs and fitting.
The academy already has plans to extend, by adding an outdoor short game areas, including a chipping area, putting green and bunkers.
