ROLVENDEN PUT 14 PAST OPPONENTS TO MAKE IT 80 FOR THE SEASON Taylor’s magnificent seven
ASHFORD & DISTRICT SATURDAY LEAGUE:
Adam Taylor hit seven as Rolvenden put 14 past Aldington without reply to hit the 80-goal mark for the season.
A neat chip over the keeper started Taylor’s scoring, with Wayne Beaney adding a hat-trick. Ollie Sayer’s 25-yard strike and one each for Tim Sims, Jason Bertram and Tony MacDonald completed the tally.
Luke Burdon’s hat-trick helped Metro win 5-3 at Lydd United.
The Ashford side trailed to a 20th-minute penalty, before new signing Frankie Steer crossed for Dan Frost to head home.
Burdon (2) and Little stretched Metro’s advantage to 4-1, before Lydd pulled two back, Shane Holding getting the second, with a shot from the halfway line.
Burdon completed his hat-trick with Metro’s fifth, while referee Chris Robins earned praise for his officiating.
Andy Underdown got the winner as leaders Smarden beat Bethersden 1-0 to move six points clear.
Underdown got the final touch in a goalmouth scramble, but the victory was marred by an injury to central defender Peter Naden.
He will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a fractured and dislocated left shoulder after falling awkwardly.
Willesborough Athletic bowed out of the Ashford Charity Trophy, 3-0 at Chilham, while Riverside lost 7-1 at Faversham Harlequin in the Faversham Charity Cup.
