Pamper evening a great way to support Pilgrims

-

A little bit of pampering always goes down well.

And that was certainly the case when clients of Podplus, the sports shop and injury clinic based at Ashford’s Julie Rose Stadium, enjoyed a special evening dedicated to their wellbeing – in aid of Pilgrims Hospices.

Participants could enjoy everything from hair styling and mini manicures to massages. Podplus manager Anjuna Maitland handed over a cheque for £561 raised at the event to the hospice last week.

She said: “As a company we focus on health and exercise, ensuring people have the right footwear and clothing for their needs. We also know how important relaxation can be.

“We wanted to find a way to support Pilgrims as it is such an important local charity which cares for those who are going through such difficult times. Running a pamper evening seemed a great way to do this.

“We hope to continue to support Pilgrims throughout the

year either directly or indirectly. We are offering a discount to runners in the London and Brighton marathons and the Hastings half marathon if they are raising funds for Pilgrims.”

Sharon Burberry, Pilgrims Hospices fundraising assistant, said: “It was a wonderful evening.

“I thoroughly enjoyed being pampered and want to say thank you to everyone who helped to make the evening a success.

“The money donated will enable Pilgrims to continue to support patients, their families and carers both within the hospice and in the community.”
