Sunflower fund raises £26k
Hundreds of bright yellow wooden sunflowers, set in matching wheelbarrows, are adorning gardens at Ashford Pilgrims Hospice in Hythe Road, Willesborough, and the charity’s two other hospices in Margate and Canterbury until the end of this month.
More than 600 sunflowers went on display on Sunday as the culmination of a fundraising appeal which raised more than £26,000.
The wheelbarrows were provided by Boys & Maughan solicitors.
Pilgrims in memoriam fundraiser Pauline Donkin said: “It was wonderful to welcome hundreds of our supporters into the gardens of our three hospices. Their generosity in supporting the sunflower appeal has been magnificent and extremely touching.”
