Hunt on after picket fence parts stolen

-

A man is appealing for information about a thief in a sports car who he believes stole sections of his white picket fence.

Alan Hart from Stowting Common said he noticed the three large sections of fencing, about three metres each, were missing on Tuesday morning last week.

After reporting the crime to the police, Mr Hart was told by a neighbour that they had seen a convertible sports car drive past with white picket fence panels sticking out the back. He said: “There cannot be that many local people who have an open-top sports car so I’m just hoping someone can identify this person.

“It is so bizarre. My wife and I have lived here for 25 years and we have never had anything like this happen.

“It was very expensive fencing, so it is going to cost me hundreds of pounds to replace it.”

A Kent Police spokesman said: “We are investigating a report of picket fencing being stolen from an address in Stowting Common sometime between midnight on Monday, August 11, and 7.30am on Tuesday, August 12.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101.
