Champions set out their stall on opening day

Ben Squires-Quinn scored twice as Brewmaster made an impressive start in defence of their Premier Division title with a 5-0 opening day home win against Marsh Athletic.

Gary Clarke, Craig Haynes and Jordan Harris got the others.

Market Hotel began with a 4-1 win at Hamstreet, both sides finishing with 10 men. Ryan Smith scored twice from the spot, with Matt Collins and Steve Harris getting one each, while Aaron McGuiness, brother of new boss Shay, netted Street’s consolatio­n.

Jordan Griffin scored the season’s first hat-trick in the top flight as Bromley Green beat Iden Park 5-2. Emmanuel Awuni and Joe Kalungiadi added the other two with Naithan Jackson getting both for Iden.

Shadoxhurs­t’s scheduled home game against Aldington was called off due to an injury to the referee. The sides played a friendly instead, Dockers winning 3-1.

In Division 1, AFC Locomotive beat Kennington 5-1. Lloyd Dehara, opened his account for his new club, with Robbie Greenfield, Matt Hadlum, Hayden Slade and Joshua Jones also on target for Locomotive.

Jason Simms pulled one back for Kennington.

Brad Burton and Michael Harvey both scored twice for Troggs in their 6-2 win over Division 2 champions Albion. Danny Jennings and Jordan King added one each. Tom Wilmshurst and Paul Martin netted for Albion.

Bradley Freund scored a hat-trick for the Batchelors as they eased to a 6-3 home win over Newchurch.

All their goals came in the first half with James Bartholome­w, Frank Thompson and Adam Roberts also on target. Darryl George, Will Mawston and Billy Benzie netted for Church.

Ben Harding’s late penalty helped Beaver beat Egerton & Pluckley 2-1. He got the other goal, with Steve Cunningham getting Egerton’s reply.

Matt Burdon’s double and one each by brother Luke, Jesse Lee Junior and Anthony Finch set up Stanhope Rangers’ 5-2 win at Charing Sunday. Richard Floyd and Joe Dean were Sunday’s scorers.

Charlie Jupp (2) and Sean Tong netted for Ashford Dynamo in a 3-2 win at Red Heathens. James Hamilton and Josh Manktelow notched for the hosts.

In Division 2, Willesboro­ugh AFC beat Burton Grove 12-1. Brad Parker, Liam Sheldon-Smith and Jack Bundock all scored twice, with Kris Leigh, Michael Rose, Nicky Bristow, Brett Tupper, Marc Lawrence and an own-goal completing the tally. Player-manager Vinnie Day was Burton’s scorer.

Mark Hopkinson scored twice as Givaudan beat Bromley Green Reserves 4-0. Ricky Harden and Lewis Newcombe added the other goals.

Two-goal John Driscoll set up Sandgate’s 4-2 win at Prince Albert. Craig Hayward and Jamie Burton were also on target. Gary Boorman and Mike Ward netted for Albert.

Billy Pearson ( Marsh Athletic) and Matt Dudley (Charing Reserves) scored in the 1-1 draw. In Division 3, Lewis Monger scored a hat-trick as Kingsnorth Pilgrims beat Park Farm Rangers 6-1. They led 6-0 at half-time, Andy Hills (2) and Phil Batchelor the other scorer. Aaron Byrne scored for Rangers

Matt Moon scored twice for Ashford Cavaliers in a 4-3 win against Troggs Reserves. Adam Ready scored for Fox Sunday in their 1-0 win over Lolzors.

Connor Friday (Stour Valley) and Liam French (Ashford Spartans) scored as the teams drew 1-1. Matt Beesley and Simon McCombe secured Aldington Reserves’ 2-1 home to Appledore.
