Parishes will mark remembrance
Remembrance Day isn’t just remembered in Ashford town centre, although last week’s paper with its emphasis on the town centre service would make it appear so (Traditional Remembrance service at Memorial Garden).
Throughout the borough many hundreds of people gather at Remembrance services in their local churches, on the village greens and at war memorials. Last year 300 residents including retired and active serving personnel, the uniformed organisations, children and representatives from the Parish Councils gathered at both Kingsnorth and Shadoxhurst churches in order to “remember”.
