Changes planned at Littlestone

Littlestone GC are pressing ahead with plans for a complete facelift. The club have been selected by England Golf as venue for the 2017 Brabazon Trophy and in the same year, the English Men’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, English Girls Open, Kent Ladies’ Championship and County Weeks. There are plans to create a reservoir, a new pro shop and return the club’s reception to its original location. And with Remembrance Day taking place on Sunday, followed by Armistice Day on Tuesday, in this the centenary of the outbreak of he First World War, the Romney Marsh club are to reinstate the flagpole on top of the clubhouse.

Top American golfer John Daly will be guest of honour at an evening being held at Pedham Place Golf Centre in Swanley later this month. The event on Thursday, November 20, has been organised by Tenterden-based Benn Barham and will be sponsored by Demelza.
