Six-year-old Sereen Arifet, already a bronze world champion, won silver and bronze in fighting and tag, before being awarded her belt.

Lewis Dryland, celebrated his first ever competition by claiming bronze in fighting.

The club returned from Surrey proud of their achievements and everyone connected with the success admitted it wouldn’t have been possible without the effort of instructor Ken James and his wife, Sue.

The club meet at Kingsnorth Recreation Centre in Field View on Saturday mornings between 10.30am and noon.

They want to encourage more youngsters to take up the sport, so anyone interested can find out more by turning up at those times.
