On the move towards improved transport links

- By Samantha Williams sawilliams@thekmgroup.co.uk @SamWilliamsKM

Several major developments designed to improve the transport links in Ashford are due to be discussed next week.

Councillors from both Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council will consider them at next Tuesday’s Joint Transportation Board (JTB) meeting.

Items on the agenda include an update on the junction 10a scheme, plans for a rail halt in Park Farm and a proposal to widen Chart Road.

There will also be an update on the clamping scheme, which was launched earlier this year to reduce the number of HGV driv- ers parking in the town’s business parks and laybys.

Here we take a look at each of these major projects, and how they will impact on the town.
