Driver jailed
A man who drove in Charing while more than double the legal limit has been sentenced to 42 days in prison. Jan Boguslaw Galeniewski, 56, of no fixed address, drove a Scania lorry in Ashford Road on August 17 and gave a breath test of 98 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 17 and was sentenced to 42 days in prison and banned from driving for 26 months.
