Callum Fraser and Lewis Minter progressed to Ashford Rail BC’s finals day to be held on Sunday as they qualified from a junior competitio­n staged by the club at the weekend.

Rail played six missed triples against River BC and lost 127-83 overall, managing one winning rink, that of Courtney Bryant, Clive Allen and skip Dudley Bryant, who triumphed 18-17.

At Cheriton in the Shepway finals, Rail’s ladies won on both rinks to beat Folkestone in the Easton Cup. The two teams comprised Janet Williams, Trudy Paine, Anne Rutland and skip Mo Hayes and Hazel Larking, Mary Fortune, Jenny Farmer and skip Chris Breeds.

Hamstreet played a Mermaid League match against Pett, losing on all rinks to be beaten 93-51 overall.

Tenterden’s match against Brenchley was rained off.

Against Fairlight on Friday, Tenterden were beaten 84-59.

Tenterden took four points to Fairlight’s six.
