Ash­ley Cook took seven wick­ets against Hol­combe & Blue Bell Hill as Mer­sham Sports closed in on the Cham­pi­onship East ti­tle.

They’re 12 points clear of Kings Hill go­ing into the fi­nal game of the sea­son at home to St Mar­garet’s on Satur­day.

Opener David Har­man top scored with 76 in the lead­ers’ to­tal of 183-7. Cook fin­ished with 7-24 as Mer­sham bowled out Hol­combe for 48 to clinch vic­tory by 135 runs.

Boughton & East­well’s Di­vi­sion 1A Cen­tral pro­mo­tion hopes ended with de­feat by The Mote 3rds.

They were bowled out for only 68 on a dif­fi­cult day for the bats­men. David Gray (3-15) kept the game alive be­fore The Mote com­pleted a five-wicket win.

Wye lost to cham­pi­ons Borstal by seven wick­ets.

Robert Banks top scored with 49 in Wye’s to­tal of 149-9.

Keith Se­crett took two of the three Borstal wick­ets to fall.

Pro­moted Ken­ning­ton 2nds eased to a nine-wicket suc­cess against Lit­tle­bourne 3rds in Di­vi­sion 1C East. Dave Philpott (4-19) led the way as nine-man Lit­tle­bourne were bowled out for 80.

Peter Grant was un­beaten on 39 as Ken­ning­ton won in­side 25 overs.

Mer­sham Sports 2nds beat Hol­combe & Blue Bell Hill 2nds by six runs in Di­vi­sion 2A East.

John Har­man (3-26) was the pick of the bowlers as Mer­sham re­stricted Hol­combe to 135-9 in re­ply to 141-8.

Willes­bor­ough made 211-6 against Lit­tle­bourne 2nds in Di­vi­sion 2B East but lost by three wick­ets.

Boughton & East­well 2nds con­ceded their Di­vi­sion 2C East game against Milstead 2nds.
