‘it’s ridicuLous’

-

Fellow traders spoke of their amazement that a ticket had been issued.

Kerry Herbert of VJ Game said it set a dangerous precedent.

He said: “Provision is always made for her van to be there. It’s taking the place of a market stall gazebo and if he’s going to give a ticket to her van then he should give a ticket to all of the gazebos that are parked on yellow lines.

“The market has been here for years and years and years and at the end of the day, if the market’s not here it doesn’t bring people into the village.

“My produce is chilled but I do things on ice blocks. But that is a chilled van and fresh fish needs to be constantly chilled. No van, no fish stall, no fish stall not many people at the market.

“I think as a market most of us can rally round. It’s just ridiculous.”
