Phoenix will have weekend security staff

New pub manager, Liz Woodman, said it won’t be her punters causing the problems.

She said: “I am new to the area personally so I don’t know the specific problems Mr Adby is referring to.

“These problems might have been exaggerated, they might not, but I can’t comment on what it was like before. All I can say is I know how I work, and I do not tolerate trouble.

“We’ll have doormen at the weekends and I’m personally always watching and always keeping an eye on what’s going on.

“I can only do my best to police areas around the pub and I expect my doormen to do the same.

“If it was bad before then perhaps it was not managed properly.

“I can understand Mr Adby’s concerns, but I can reassure him that I do not tolerate any nonsense or trouble. I do not like trouble, I like an easy life.”
