Some councillors suggested that Ashford’s trial would be a good example for other towns about how to tackle lorries parking overnight.
Cllr Michael Burgess, (Con. Isle of Oxney), said: “I hope the scheme continues after the pilot. We will have to teach the rest of the county how it is done.
Kent County Council’s Andrew Wickham(Con. Ashford Rural East) said: “I’m very encouraged by the work that is going on. It has had the desired effect. It will show other districts this is the way forward. Hopefully they will follow and we will get our lorry parks.”
