Shoplifter is sent to prison

A 26-year-old woman has been sent to prison after admitting three shoplifting offences. Cheri Goldfinch, of Monkton Close, Stanhope, admitted stealing groceries worth £180 from a shop in Beaver Lane, Ashford, on July 3; stealing meat and a shopping basket from a shop in Faversham Road on July 22 and taking food from a shop in Singleton the next day. Appearing before Canterbury magistrates on Thursday, Goldfinch was jailed for 21 days and ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge and an £80 victim surcharge.
