Saddle up for heart charity

-

Hundreds of people have signed up to take part in the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) charity cycle ride this weekend.

Participants can cycle 26, 40, 50 or 66 miles around the East Kent Countryside this Sunday to raise cash for the charity.

Last year saw 800 cyclists come together for The Kent Coast Bike Ride for the BHF, raising over £45,000. The charity is hoping this year’s event will raise £60,000.

This year organisers are offering an on road ride experience, which is either 50 miles or 66 miles long, as well as an offroad multi-terrain ride at 26 or 40 miles.

This change allows riders to start and finish from the same location at The University of Kent in Canterbury so friends can come together at the end of the day to celebrate with music from The Chillbillies and Indigo Stone and a barbecue. Although online registration is now closed for the event, riders can still sign up on the day to take part, with registration open from 7.45am. Entry fees are £20 on the day for adults and £10 for children.
