Chil­dren learned cool street dance moves, sped through re­lay races and dashed around tag-run­ning dur­ing a spe­cial sports day.

The Nike Sports Day was held at Ash­ford De­signer Out­let on Satur­day , the main event dur­ing a three-day chil­dren’s fit­ness ses­sion.

The sports brand teamed up with shop­ping cen­tre own­ers McArthur Glen for the ses­sions, which started on Fri­day with a Flex Trial Zone where chil­dren en­joyed a range of fit­ness ac­tiv­i­ties.

Satur­day’s sports day, at­tended by 70 chil­dren, con­sisted of a se­ries of three 20-minute classes for eight to 14-year-olds to run, street dance and have a body work­out. Skills were mea­sured and recorded and all young­sters in­volved were given a diploma and a goodie bag.

This Young Ath­letes Event was run by pro­fes­sional coaches to en­hance fit­ness and cre­ate aware­ness of sports and well-be­ing for bud­ding young­sters.
