Bowls
Several players won two titles at Tenterden BC’s finals weekend. Malcolm Nelmes triumphed in the men’s singles and the singles handicap, while Gill Hawkes won the women’s championship and partnered Tony Masters to victory in the mixed pairs. Masters tasted individual glory in the Two Woods while Ann Walker won the 100-Up and joined forces with Jenny Crickmore-Porter and Terry Pickford to take the mixed triples. The Minor Singles went to Peter Hogarth, with Carol James lifting the Veterans Cup. Brian Cochrane completed the list of winners by claiming the John Young Trophy. Tenterden went down 71-60 to Northiam in the Mermaid League but beat Tenterden 65-57 Penenden Heath in a friendly. Their match against the Parkinson’s Society was rained off.
