Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, Slam Cartel and Riskee & the Ridicule are just three of the big names performing at an upcoming all-day charity event.

The Local Aid show will see 10 of South Kent’s biggest bands take over the Leas Cliff Hall from noon to 11pm on Saturday, October 10.

Ashford music promoter James Vince, owner of popular YouTube show Live in the Living Room, has organised the event to raise money for five worthy causes.

Meningitis Now, Dementia UK, Anxiety UK, CXK (formally connexions) and Kent Air Ambulance will all benefit from the musical fundraiser.

Folkestone-based ska-punk favourites Battleska Galactica will even reform for one night only.

The seven-piece broke up seven years ago but due to popular demand they have performed a handful of reunion shows.

Headliner Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer – aka Jim Burke is the tweed-clad king of chap-hop from Surrey.

The parodist will be performing favourites such as Straight Out Of Surrey, Chap Hop History and Just Like A Chap.

Through his Local Aid initiative, Mr Vince, a prominent fundraiser, has released a number of charity singles with local performers covering popular songs.

The 30-year-old has raised thousands of pounds for various charities with the support of local musicians.

Now he’s going bigger and better than ever with a long line up of local legends.

The full bill includes Flawless Carbon, New Old World, Thomas Ashby, Slam Cartel, The Alchemy, Crashgate, Native People, Riskee & The Ridicule, Battleska Galactica and Mr B. The Gentleman Rhymer.

Tickets are £6.90, not including transaction fees, and can be purchased by calling 01303 228600 or by visiting www.atgtickets.com/ shows/local-aid-a-charity-concert/leas-cliff-hall.
