Ella has all the answers for fun charity quiz night

- By Samantha Williams

A charitable nine-year-old girl has organised a quiz night in memory of her cousin who was stillborn.

Ella Roper will host the fun evening at the Goat Lees Community Hall, in Trinity Road, Kennington on Saturday.

The Willesborough Junior School pupil has come up with all the questions herself and has organised a raffle too.

She will be helped on the night by mum Sara, dad Mark and fiveyear-old brother Daniel.

All money raised will go to The Twinkling Stars Project, an Ashford charity which aims to open a new stillbirth bereavement unit at the William Harvey Hospital for grieving parents.

The fundraiser will contribute to Ella’s workbook for her 2nd Dan black belt in karate, a martial art she has been doing since she was four-years-old.

Mrs Roper said: “She is grading for her 2nd Dan black belt in karate.

“As part of her work book they have to do something for charity, putting themselves out in situations that are out of their comfort zones.

“She is running the quiz herself and has sorted all the questions. She is amazing and is working hard on her chosen charity which is the Twinkling Stars Project, in memory of her cousin who was born asleep.”

So far, Ella has raised £250, but hopes to make it to £500.

Spaces are still available for the quiz night, which will start at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £3 a person, with teams of up to eight, and raffle tickets are £1 a strip.
