Food for thought at KM Big Quiz

Kent Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Therapy Centre will b provide food for thought at the 10th anniversar­y KM Big Charity Quiz this month.

The charity has agreed to prepare a delicious ploughman’s supper for every quiz-goer in return for a share of the proceeds raised at the event being staged at The Stour Centre, Ashford on Friday, October 16.

The Kent MS Therapy Centre, which opened in January this year, provides a range of therapies and services to improve the quality of life for people with MS and help to alleviate some of the symptoms.

Helen Wathen, fundraisin­g manager for the centre, said: “We are delighted to have been asked to provide the ploughman’s platters for the KM Big Charity Quiz in Ashford.

“We are grateful for the support we receive from the KM Charity Team and are looking forward to providing bigger and better platters for quiz-goers this year.”

Booking is still open for teams up to eight people at www. kmbigquiz.co.uk using the booking code ABQEB15 to receive a £10 discount on the price and a bottle of wine for the table. Entry fee includes a drink, a ploughman’s and entry into a P&O Ferries prize draw for each team member.

Organisers are expecting a record turnout ensuring a bumper windfall for three charities; the Kent MS Therapy Centre, Guide Dogs for the Blind – this paper’s charity of the year – and the children’s road safety work of the KM Charity Team.

Kent-based Hornby has donated a stack of toys and collectabl­es to be distribute­d as raffle prizes while Barclays bank has pledged to double the charity pot.

Shepherd Neame will provide the fully stocked charity bar on the night.

Other key partners of the KM Big Quiz include Specsavers, HR GO and Hallett and Co.

Adding to the tension one quizgoer will be called up to the stage to answer an on the spot quiz question worth £100 in cash.
