Bikes and tools snatched by raiders

Around £10,000 worth of bikes and tools were stolen from a garage during a burglary in Singleton.

Thieves made off with two valuable bikes, a drill and two disc grinders after breaking into the house in Marmion Way last Saturday between midnight and 11.30am.

A 2014/15 ‘Santa Cruz Nomad C’ bike and a specialise­d ‘Camber Evo UK Edition’ cycle – one of only 20 ever made – were taken from the garage.

Police are investigat­ing the burglary and have released images of the property in a bid to return them with their owner.

Officers also issued crime reduction advice, including recommendi­ng residents lock up large machinery when not in use, record details of property, take photos of valuables, security mark property and register valuables on the National Property Database.
