Bikes and tools snatched by raiders

Around £10,000 worth of bikes and tools were stolen from a garage dur­ing a bur­glary in Sin­gle­ton.

Thieves made off with two valu­able bikes, a drill and two disc grinders af­ter break­ing into the house in Marmion Way last Satur­day be­tween mid­night and 11.30am.

A 2014/15 ‘Santa Cruz No­mad C’ bike and a spe­cialised ‘Cam­ber Evo UK Edi­tion’ cy­cle – one of only 20 ever made – were taken from the garage.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the bur­glary and have re­leased im­ages of the prop­erty in a bid to re­turn them with their owner.

Of­fi­cers also is­sued crime re­duc­tion ad­vice, in­clud­ing rec­om­mend­ing res­i­dents lock up large ma­chin­ery when not in use, record de­tails of prop­erty, take pho­tos of valu­ables, se­cu­rity mark prop­erty and reg­is­ter valu­ables on the Na­tional Prop­erty Data­base.
