Top Manch­ester band plays free church gig

Young peo­ple are in­vited to a free mu­sic gig in Ash­ford to see Manch­ester band, Twelve24.

The con­cert has been or­gan­ised by Paul Martin, who runs Fur­nace, a bian­nual event in the town for youths.

Nor­mally tick­ets to see the band are £10 but Mr Martin has man­aged to se­cure funds so that the price of en­try has been cov­ered and teenagers can ac­cess the event for free.

The youth worker said: “We wanted to host a big thing in Ash­ford, so we went for a band that is con­nect­ing well with the youth scene in Manch­ester.

“Twelve24 have this di­verse ap­proach to con­tem­po­rary mu­sic.

“Be it feel-good pop, eu­phoric dance, or tech­ni­cal rap, it’s go­ing to be great to see them live.”

The show will be held at Ash­ford Bap­tist Church, op­po­site AMF Bowl, in Sta­tion Road on Satur­day, March 5.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Drinks, snacks and mer­chan­dise will be on sale.
