This year is the 400th an­niver­sary of Wil­liam Shake­speare’s death and there are nu­mer­ous events be­ing staged across the county.

Shake­speare, Eng­land’s best­known play­wright died on April 23 in 1616 in Strat­fordupon-Avon, which was also his birth­place. Be­tween 1589 and 1613, he wrote 38 plays, 154 son­nets, two long nar­ra­tive po­ems, and a few other verses.
