Kentish Express Ashford & District

Nominate top teachers for awards

-

Newly qualified teachers making a splash at their schools and educators trumpeting literacy are being sought by the county’s annual teaching awards.

The Kent Teacher of the Year Awards, open for nominations until March 1, will recognise and reward the district’s top literacy teacher and NQT of the year.

Ambassadors of the event are urging parents, pupils and schools to submit at least one nomination while there is still time.

Other award categories include standard curriculum subjects as well as primary, secondary, volunteer, team, and non-teaching member of staff.

Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team, organising the awards, said: “There’s not much time left so don’t delay in nominating your favourite teacher for an award.

“It’s so quick and easy to do, just fill in the simple online form on the awards website.”

More than 50 staff and schools will be recognised at a glittering awards dinner this May hosted by Leeds Castle.

Families can cast their votes and school staff can nominate colleagues at www.kentteacheroftheyear.co.uk
