Generous staff give wages to Demelza

-

Staff at Ashford’s County Square shopping centre have raised £6,000 for a children’s hospice by gifting a shift.

All 15 members of the centre’s customer service team donated a minimum of one day’s pay to Demelza Hospice Care for Children, based in Sittingbourne.

Some colleagues even donated three day’s wages.

This resulted in a donation of £6,000.

The cheque was presented to Donna Wells, from Demelza, by Tony Butcher, the centre’s customer service’s manager and his team last week.

Mrs Wells said: “It was amazingly generous of the County Square team to gift a shift to us, especially at Christmas when there is so much demand on everyone’s pay packet.

“Their support will help us provide essential care to lifelimited and life-threatened babies, children and young people throughout Kent and create precious memories for their families.”
