Ashford’s men’s team stay top of the Kent Indoor Bowling League despite losing 119-92 to nearest rivals Deangate Ridge on Saturday. David Marsh, Dennis Joy, George Coles and Ian Larkin were the best rink performers, winning 23-15. Marsh, Joy and Larkin all featured again, together with Vince King in a 30-12 success as Ashford won 130-101 at Sevenoaks the following day. Ashford ladies won both their latest home matches, beating Sevenoaks 145-90 on Sunday, following up a 144-79 victory against Thanet the previous Wednesday. R.Sawyers, J.Angus, P Boreham and B Graham were the top-performing rink – winning 38-9 against Sevenoaks, while Gill Hawkes, Ann Rutland, Chris Breeds and Audrey Blythe, claimed the honours against Thanet, coming out on top 30-12.
