Leaders dish out heavy defeat

Ashford men’s 1sts slumped to their biggest defeat of the season in Kent/Sussex Regional League 1 on Saturday.
The 8-2 loss to leaders Blackheath & Old Elthamians leaves Ashford in fifth place, behind Sevenoaks 2nds on goal difference.
The visitors had been the only side Blackheath & OEs had lost to all season – Ashford winning 4-3 at Ball Lane in October.
Ashford are without a game this weekend, with original opponents Marden Russets having left the league.
Ashford 2nds’ three- match winning streak came to and with a 4-2 defeat at Canterbury 4ths in Kent Area Division 1. After taking the lead, Ashford fell 4-1 behind before grabbing a late second.
Ashford 3rds slumped to their ninth defeat in Kent Area Division 2, going down 8-2 to Canterbury Millers.
In Kent Open Division 2, Ashford Crusaders lost 2-1 at New Beccehamian 3rds, while Ashford 6ths were beaten 10-0 by Holcombe 6ths in Kent Open Division 4.
Ashford ladies’ 1sts were beaten 3-1 at home by Bromley & Beckenham 2nds in Women’s East League Division 2 South East.
