Lead­ers dish out heavy de­feat

Ash­ford men’s 1sts slumped to their big­gest de­feat of the sea­son in Kent/Sus­sex Re­gional League 1 on Satur­day.

The 8-2 loss to lead­ers Black­heath & Old Elthami­ans leaves Ash­ford in fifth place, be­hind Sevenoaks 2nds on goal dif­fer­ence.

The vis­i­tors had been the only side Black­heath & OEs had lost to all sea­son – Ash­ford win­ning 4-3 at Ball Lane in Oc­to­ber.

Ash­ford are with­out a game this week­end, with orig­i­nal op­po­nents Mar­den Rus­sets hav­ing left the league.

Ash­ford 2nds’ three- match win­ning streak came to and with a 4-2 de­feat at Can­ter­bury 4ths in Kent Area Divi­sion 1. Af­ter tak­ing the lead, Ash­ford fell 4-1 be­hind be­fore grab­bing a late se­cond.

Ash­ford 3rds slumped to their ninth de­feat in Kent Area Divi­sion 2, go­ing down 8-2 to Can­ter­bury Millers.

In Kent Open Divi­sion 2, Ash­ford Cru­saders lost 2-1 at New Bec­ce­hamian 3rds, while Ash­ford 6ths were beaten 10-0 by Hol­combe 6ths in Kent Open Divi­sion 4.

Ash­ford ladies’ 1sts were beaten 3-1 at home by Brom­ley & Beck­en­ham 2nds in Women’s East League Divi­sion 2 South East.
