Ri­ley Al­ford was the star-of-the-show with all the goals as Willes­bor­ough Ath­letic clinched a place in the Kent Ju­nior Cup Group A semi-fi­nals with a 4-0 win over Rochester & District League side Cannon 24 at Tow­ers School.

The vic­tory leaves the Divi­sion 3 East lead­ers 90 min­utes away from a se­cond suc­ces­sive ap­pear­ance in county fi­nals day, hav­ing lifted the Group C tro­phy last sea­son.

Al­ford opened the scor­ing nine min­utes be­fore half-time be­fore net­ting three in the fi­nal 20 min­utes.

Ath­letic con­tinue their Les Leckie Cup cam­paign with a quar­ter-fi­nal home tie against Divi­sion 2 East lead­ers Kings Hill on Satur­day.

The win­ners will face Rol­ven­den, last sea­son’s beaten fi­nal­ists, fol­low­ing their 5-2 ex­tra-time win over Guru Nanak Re­serves at Gravesend.

They came from 2-0 down af­ter 15 min­utes to level the score in 90 min­utes, be­fore set­tling the con­test.

The home side fin­ished with nine men, hav­ing two sent-off dur­ing the ex­tra half hour.

Karl Franz, Wayne Beaney, Cul­ley Sayer (penalty), Kevin Ruane and Tom Win­der shared the scor­ing hon­ours for Rol­ven­den.

Man­ager Al­bert Adams said: “Hav­ing lost in the fi­nal last sea­son, get­ting there again would be good but pro­mo­tion is our pri­or­ity this sea­son.”
