Party marks big day
Jack Mercer will be eight on February 29 but it will only be his second proper birthday.
Mum Katrina Mercer, 39, said: “Jack understands a bit more about leap years now that he’s older and he is very excited about his birthday.”
His family, who live in Shoreham Lane, St Michael’s, are planning a big party at Rolvenden village hall, complete with bouncy castle, gladiator duels and disco, with and more than 60 friends and family.
The party will be held on Sunday because Jack has school on Monday, but he will be having a small celebration on the day itself.
Jack, a St Michael’s Primary School pupil, who has two older brothers, Homewood pupils Tom, 15, and Samuel, 12, is proudly telling his classmates: “I’m eight but I’m going to be two on my birthday.”
