Ashford’s David Marsh and Bradley Pounds have qualified for the National Indoor Pairs finals at Melton Mowbray in April.

They beat Swale’s Perry Martin and Lee Shoebridge 22-13 in the area final at Mote Park IBC in Maidstone.

In club matches, Ashford’s men’s team beat Bromley by the huge margin of 100 shots – 162-62 – at home on Sunday.

David Marsh, Dennis Joy, Graham Ruck and Ian Larkin (39-9) were the best winning rink.

The men went down 120-102 at Mote Park the previous day, with Gary Breeds, Ian Payne, Bert Douglas and Eric Peacock winning 24-13.

The ladies lost 124-120 at Bromley last Wednesday, with Trudie Paine, Jeanette Payne, Judy Swan and Cheryl Palmer taking rink honours with a 26-8 victory.
