Ashford 2nds fell into the bottom three of Kent Division 1 following their 3-2 defeat at Blackheath & Old Elthamians on Saturday.

It leaves them three points behind Marden Russets who visit Ball Lane this weekend.

The club’s first team return to Kent/Sussex Regional 1 action on Saturday with a trip to Maidstone.

Last weekend’s home game against Marden Russets was called off due to the opposition pulling out of the league.

Ashford 3rds were 5-3 winners at home to Blackheath 3rds in Kent 2.

Tom Goodwin scored the opener before Blackheath levelled.

A deflected effort put them in front before first team player Ronan Taggart converted a penalty corner to make it 2-2 at half-time.

Blackheath regained the lead with a back post finish before Matt Carter celebrated his birthday with Ashford’s third.

Matt Clifford swept home the fourth before Taggart hit the fifth and his second, with a skilful finish.

The 4ths lost 5-1 at Open Premier A leaders Deal.

Crusaders were 2-1 winners at home to Blackheath 5ths in Open Division 2.

The 6ths went down 5-0 at New Beccehamian in Division 4.

Ashford ladies’ 1sts were also without a game, while the 2nds and 3rds were both beaten in Kent 1. The 2nds lost 2-0 at Blackheath, while the 3rds went down 6-1 at home to Bromley & Beckenham.
