Phone and keys stolen in at­tack

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion af­ter a man was vi­o­lently attacked and robbed by two men in Vic­to­ria Road, Ash­ford.

Of­fi­cers are urg­ing any­one who knows any­thing about the rob­bery, which took place on Mon­day, May 30, at around 1am, to come for­ward.

The vic­tim was re­port­edly cross­ing the foot­bridge from El­wick Road to Vic­to­ria Road when he was set upon by his two at­tack­ers, who took his mo­bile phone and keys.

They are both de­scribed as Asian in ap­pear­ance, with one pos­si­bly wear­ing a white T-shirt, and are said to have run to­wards the town cen­tre.

Det Con Ge­of­frey Kirya, who is in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent, said: “This was a vi­o­lent at­tack and we are keen to speak to any­body who may have seen the rob­bery or the two men run­ning away from the scene.”
