Teens learn safer bik­ing

Young­sters had a taste of mo­tor­cy­cling at Ash­ford’s Sk8­side Youth Cen­tre in a bid to en­cour­age them to think about mo­tor­bike safety. More than 40 11-19year-olds at­tended an open day staged by Mo­tov8, which pro­vides free off-road rid­ing for young peo­ple, on June 4.

Those who took part in quizzes and com­pe­ti­tions were re­warded with a free bar­be­cue, with prizes in­clud­ing a hel­met and mo­tor­bike jacket.

Fur­ther cour­ses are on Thurs­days, 6pm-8pm, at the cen­tre in the Stour Cen­tre car park and is free for 11-19-year-olds. Af­ter six ses­sions, teenagers qual­ify for a free day of mo­tor­bik­ing.
