Free evening parking will solve nothing

The scheme to make parking free in the evenings to encourage more people to use the town, misses the central point. The town is dead in the evenings, wine bars are over-priced, night clubs have unnecessary dress codes and there is limited night life in the town. Where is there to go in Ashford on a Tuesday night for a car driver? They will only park in town if they have something to do.
