Free evening parking will solve nothing

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Points Of View -

The scheme to make parking free in the evenings to encourage more people to use the town, misses the central point. The town is dead in the evenings, wine bars are over-priced, night clubs have unnecessary dress codes and there is limited night life in the town. Where is there to go in Ashford on a Tuesday night for a car driver? They will only park in town if they have something to do. The mayor George Koowaree has invited one of the princes to visit Ashford, what is there to see; one shared space? Might be the shortest Royal visit in history Sue Whybrow, Ashford taxi driver

We are all so grateful for their magnificent support and, not that I should really single anyone out as it was such a wonderful team effort, but I really need to thank Linda Foster at John Lewis for organising such an amazing event and inspiring everyone who took part. Jennie Double, chief officer for Age UK Ashford motorist continues unabated. Mark Yonge Cranbrook Road, Tenterden
