Women’s Institute toast the Queen with tea and fizz
Kennington WI hosted an afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday on Sunday.
Among the 90 guests were former presidents of the WI, a local author, Second World War veterans and members of the St Mary’s Church congregation.
The celebrations took place in the WI Hall in Faversham Road.
Diane Bloodworth, secretary of Kennington WI said: “We had lovely scones and cakes, a musical accompaniment, some singing, and a glass of bubbly to toast the Queen.
“Everyone had a lovely time.”
